PLEAT JAM: (plEt `jam) (plt jm) n.

Dislodged remnant of sloughed skin from the expandable throat grooves of whales in the Balaenopteridae family.

Pleat jam is often found in the water following a breach (or leap from the water). Breaching has been described by some as a joyously unrestrained and enthusiastic event. Humpback whales have been known to breach over 100 times consecutively. Pleat jam is what remains when the "party is over" which is exactly what you will find on these pages– PARTY REMNANTS!
